Quarterly Design Project

The Quarterly Design Project (QDP) is a collaborative opportunity for any undergraduate student interested in better understanding the engineering design process.

We give teams of 5-6 people a problem statement based off of a relevant need for an assistive technology or prosthetic device. Past problems have involved designing the next generation wheelchair and innovating a pill box. Teams are given a budget and criterion for the final product. How teams create a solution is up to them, but members continue to exceed our expectations with forward-thinking ideas.

Fall of 2017, teams will be creating a device that will help a wheelchair user participate in a sport. The teams will present in front of a board and the winner of the QDP project for fall quarter will be given the opportunity to develop and design their physical project.
